Trade exchange between Egypt and France will reach $2.9 billion in 2024:Statistics

Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics indicates that trade between Egypt and France will reach $2.9 billion in 2024, compared to $2.5 billion in 2023.

Egyptian exports to France reached $1 billion in 2024, compared to $855.4 million in 2023. Egyptian imports from France reached $1.8 billion in 2024, compared to $1.7 billion in 2023.
The most important commodity groups exported by Egypt to France in 2024:
1. Machinery and electrical appliances worth $248 million.
2. Fertilizers worth $194 million.
3. Fuel and mineral oils worth $158 million.
4. Fruits and vegetables worth $75 million.
5. Ready-made garments worth $73 million.

The most important commodity groups Egypt imported from France in 2024:
1. Pharmaceutical products worth $302 million.
2. Cereals worth $183 million.
3. Cars, tractors, and bicycles worth $115 million.
4. Iron and iron products worth $100 million.
5. Various chemical products worth $99 million.

The value of French investments in Egypt reached $483.8 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year, compared to $591.3 million during the 2022/2023 fiscal year. Meanwhile, the value of Egyptian investments in France reached $238.3 million during the 2023/2024 fiscal year, compared to $284.2 million during the 2022/2023 fiscal year. The value of remittances from Egyptians working in France reached $71.1 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024, compared to $79 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023. Meanwhile, the value of remittances from French workers in Egypt reached $14.1 million during the fiscal year 2023/2024, compared to $9.7 million during the fiscal year 2022/2023.
Egypt's population reached 107.5 million in April 2025, while France's population reached 66.6 million during the same period.
According to the mission's estimates, the number of Egyptians residing in France reached 65,000 by the end of 2023.
